Free Golf Tips – Beware of Bad Advice

February 14th, 2009

If you have decided to take up golf, you are probably in search of free golf tips. Good news! You’ve found them! These free golf tips are designed with every golfer in mind, and they are beneficial to anyone who reads them.

The first tip is to beware of tips! That’s right. Many well meaning golfers will offer you a great deal of advice. What many people fail to realize is that what works for one golfer probably won’t work for others. These tips, however, are for all golfers.

Enjoy the game. Getting mad isn’t much fun. If you aren’t enjoying the game, you need to find out why, and fix the problem. Getting upset over bad swings or problem areas won’t fix anything, and it will only serve to take all of the fun out of the game. This is a game that tests your skill and technique – but it is still a game, and games are meant to be enjoyed!

Be a great sport – even if you aren’t great at golf. Be respectful to the other players. Be still and quiet when they are taking their shots. Don’t criticize or make fun of the way they stand, shoot, or grip the club….no matter how good you think your own game is. Good sportsmanship is everything, and without it, you won’t have any golfing companions in a very short period of time.

Golf responsibly. Do not litter the course. If the grass is loosened and turned when you shoot, use your foot to replace it. Wait your turn if you come upon a group at the next tee – don’t rush them. Use caution when driving golf carts, and use caution again when you take your shots to avoid hitting houses, buildings, animals, or other golfers. Leave the course better than you found it.

When you practice, practice at the hardest holes on the course…don’t take the easy way out, practicing only on the easy holes, thinking you are making headway – you aren’t. Practice on the hardest tees, and the hardest putts. Put yourself in the traps, and practice getting out of them. Imagine worst case scenarios and set them up. This is what will make you a better golfer.

Play miniature golf, and take it more seriously – but still have fun. Playing miniature golf is a great way to improve your putting skills. Many seasoned golfers laugh at this suggestion – but its true! Good miniature golf courses provide really challenging obstacles that you must put through, under, around and over….some even offer more challenges than you will ever find on your local golf course greens!

Keep your eyes open for used training aids. If they are reasonably priced – buy them! Not all training aids will help you, but unfortunately, you won’t know which ones will unless you try them out first. Get together with golfing friends and go in together to buy golfing aids that you can share. The aids that are available on the market today will help you improve your game a great deal, in a short amount of time.

Read a lot – and play even more. There are lots of techniques that you can learn from golfing websites, golf books, and golf magazines – but you will learn them faster out on the course! Read it once, and then go try it. If you need to, print it out and carry it with you – but go put the theory into practice – and practice, practice, practice! You can learn the concept sitting in your living room, but you will never make that concept work for you if you don’t take it out onto the course with you!

If you can’t get on the course, and you have some spare time and enough room, practice your swing. You don’t need a ball for this. Consider using a training club during these times to help build strength as well. If you take the time to practice your swing several times a day, you will find that you have a perfect swing for you in short order! If your golf game gets rained out – use the time to practice your swing, or practice your putting indoors…but don’t let that time go to waste! The best free golf tips you will ever receive will all include the word ‘practice!’

Canadian Web Hosting Resellers

February 14th, 2009

Intermediaries or middlemen exist in every business; they act as liaisons between the manufacturer or service provider and the final customer. In most cases, they might not even own many assets that they handle. Middlemen make a profit in the transaction.

The Internet has the potential to eliminate intermediation by offering services directly to the customer; at the same time, it has spawned new types of intermediation services. Web hosting is one such service that has given rise to intermediaries called resellers. Resellers are third parties who buy space from web hosting companies and then resell the space to individuals and small and medium enterprises for a profit.

Generally, large web hosting companies sell multiple accounts. The buyers of multiple accounts may then sell the unutilized accounts to others. The resellers are usually website developers. Since the resellers operate from a parent host, it would be very difficult to identify a reseller. The reseller buys space at a discount and then marks it up, which makes a win-win situation for both reseller and the buyer.

In order to be a reseller, one needs to have multiple domains. As a third party, it is essential that, in addition to the domain account, the reseller needs to have full control over the administrative panel of the client’s websites. It enables the reseller to hide his or her identity as a reseller. The terms and conditions should be executed by the reseller and the buyer.

The advantages of dealing with a reseller is that they provide extra services like web and graphic design, search engine promotion, and managed services. As the resellers are familiar with the configurations, they may be able to provide more support for the client.

The reseller is ideally suited for those businesses operating from homes or individuals because the reseller has fewer clients than the parent; as such, the reseller may be able to provide better services. The businesses must take care to know the features available, and to be familiar with the maintenance and technical support before signing the terms and conditions. For instance, if the reseller doesn’t pay the fees to the parent, the websites will be shut down.

Choosing The Best Hockey Pads And Other Equipment Like Skates

February 12th, 2009

Skates, along with your helmet and pads are probably the most important part of your hockey gear. When choosing the best hockey skates, like choosing the best hockey pads, you should take into account all of the different brands and find a size and style that fits you best. Don’t simply buy the first pair of skates you see, but rather shop around and try a few different options to find the ultimate fit.

When trying on a pair of skates you should have your heel tucked back into the heel cup, and there should be no more than about a quarter inch or so in the toe. If your ankles are weak, make sure to ask for a skate with good ankle support. When it comes to skates you will also want to ensure that you have blades with through-hardened steel with a flat rocker. A flatter rocker curve will improve your stability.

Now on to the pads… Ideally you want pants that are long enough to reach past the top of your shin pads. If your pants are too short, they’ll leave a small area unprotected which is a prime target for being slashed. You pads can only do so much. Make sure the hard caps in your shoulder pads, elbow pads and shins are intact and in good condition. If you need to, replace your pads on a regular basis. Having old worn pads might be comfortable but it might not give you the protection you need.

When it comes to your mask, you should spare no expense. While the budget option might be cheap, you need to make sure that the outer part of the mask is composed of a strong space-polymer material, and the inside of the mask contains foam. This design should be able to resist impacts while absorbing the shock at the same time. Some cheaper masks cannot offer this, so you do need to be careful. If in doubt, ask your sports supplier, for brands they recommend.

The things you don’t want to scrimp on are your skates, your pads and your helmet. Ensure that your helmet has been approved by a regulatory commission for your own safety. Pads are pretty much standard in most leagues now and flat lined curved skates are recommended for recreational and new players. Above all, you need to remember, to have fun!

Blog Construction

February 11th, 2009

Blogs like all forms of writing are an art form that takes knowledge and practice to do well.

Writing…Blogs…Blogs are on-line journals where people express themselves through writing. Writing…Writing is the process where one puts down words of a language on a format that others can read. This process has not been around very long, to use one of my writing teacher’s favorite sayings, “Writing has only existed for one day in the one year that humanity has existed.” Speaking and thinking come much easier than writing. These processes just flow out naturally like a river of consciousness; sometimes we hardly have to think about doing them. Anyone and everyone can write words down on paper but that doesn’t mean it’s ‘good writing’, myself included. Like most things in life, our society already takes writing for granted which is proving to expose more of our ignorance. Writing is a new form of expression, and if we want to do it in a way that the masses can connect with our ideas, we have to think much more simply and clearly about this art.

Now that was quite a big paragraph, you’ve got to wonder if I really needed to say as much as I just did to introduce this article on the best way to write your blogs on the Web. I didn’t even mention this main idea, and that’s what an introduction paragraph is meant to be for. This is a common mistake in many blogs out there. We try to get too many ideas across in one paragraph, sometimes even in one sentence! The key, as in all things in life-is to keep it simple. Simplicity means that readers won’t get confused about what your journal entry is actually about. Introduce your main general topic at the start, and use the subsequent paragraphs to discuss separate ideas that relate to this topic. Try to tie everything up in the concluding paragraph, your main argument and the reason why you’ve written in the first place.

Grammar and sentence construction are not easy systems to master, especially if you come from a school system that spent more time telling you about historical battles and quadratic equations than on how to read and write. This is a real problem. When we speak we can get messages across to others easily, but if we put these words down on paper, the writing just isn’t interesting and doesn’t connect with people’s curiosities and fascination. When you write you are not talking to a close friend. You can’t use slang and colloquialisms that only your local community can understand. The aim is to connect with all the people in the world, so let’s make it crystal clear and enjoyable to read.

Your computer has spelling and grammar checks, as well as access to a thesaurus. Use them, but remember that the machine can’t decipher all the intricacies of language. Language is a world in itself, and much of its territories are undiscovered by the masses. So, again keep it simple. Short, precise sentences with single ideas are great. Many words in the English language have the same meanings (synonyms). Use the thesaurus so you don’t repeat the same word over and over throughout the text. It keeps the story fresh and doesn’t turn the reader off. There’s nothing more boring than repetition. Using different words can be a lot of fun and a learning experience, just make sure you use a dictionary (also on the computer/Internet) to make absolute sure of the word’s definition.

Readability…Simplicity…Make your blog accessible by all people. You can even take into consideration that many readers will have learned English as a second language. As I’ve said in previous articles, keep to the point-don’t go on tangents. Stick with the article’s topic, and definitely stay within the realms of your blog’s main area. If your blog is entitled “Jazz music”, people who go there don’t want to hear about how your football team won on the weekend! Please be consistent. How irritating is it to visit a blog that hasn’t been written on in months or years?

I hope these little tips will help you on your quest to producing ‘good’ writing that brings new friends and acquaintances of similar outlooks into your world. If you want people to read, the aim is to produce an emotional reaction in your reader. Pretend you are writing to another form of yourself, if it were not readable, interesting and fun…would you stick around?

The Secret Psychology Behind Internet Marketing

February 10th, 2009

Television may have been the greatest invention that rocked planet earth in the 1900s (although many things which contributed to television’s birth were discovered and invented as early as the 1800s). However, it’s the internet boom of the 20th century that is causing the hullabaloo in today’s world.

With the Internet, what was impossible before has become possible now. What was impossible to know then has become possible now, with just a click of your fingertip. This is the new era of knowledge and of information explosion. This is the era of the internet revolution.

One thing significantly brought about by the internet craze is the possibility of buying and selling almost anything through the use of computers. You just need a computer set, a good internet connection and voila! Before the internet, the catchphrase was “let you fingers do the walking.” Today, you sure can use your fingers to do the walking for you, but not through the telephone system. The internet has revolutionized the way people buy and sell their products.

Imagine this: A digital camera, its model, and all its specifications right before you eyes. And you just need to click your mouse to get all other information you want before deciding on the purchase. So, you want to buy a tent dress but you do not have the time to go to the department store? Shop right in the privacy of you home. Surf the internet, look for the dress style you want, indicate your size and color preference, make arrangements as to how it is to be purchased, whether cash on delivery or through credit cards and there you are. Did it take you longer than 20 minutes?

The revolutionary method of buying and selling things through the internet has given rise to internet marketing. Internet marketing is just like your ordinary advertisement copies published by your local newspapers. But this time, it takes more than the ordinary way of advertising. Internet marketing is more technology-savvy, more persuasive and more strategic. In marketing products or ideas through the internet, the seller does not sell the products pointblank. Instead, the seller makes you feel like he is offering you an opportunity that you should not miss. He is not offering you the product, but a lifestyle that goes with the product.

While marketing has moved on from the newspapers, to the radios and to the boob tubes, and now to the computer through the internet, its basics have not changed much. The basics or the psychology behind marketing remains the same, whatever media is involved. The strategy has only been improved as it can now reach a greater number of people from all walks of life.

After you read this, you will find out that there is no secret to the psychology of marketing after all. So what are the basics, and the psychology of internet marketing?

1. First and most important is the existence of a good product. While it is true that good marketing can sell a not-so-good product, it is better to start off with a good product or a good idea. Make sure that the product or the idea is novel. Something that is not commonly heard or found or it may be common but you have reinvented the product or you have found a new way of doing something.

2. With a good product or idea in your hand, then you can proceed into concocting a story that would sell your product or idea. Your clients or buyers will not be able to physically see the product so you have to exert an extra effort to make them understand, feel your product and understand its value.

The lack of physical communication between the buyer and the seller makes internet marketing doubly hard. You have to create a mystery behind your products; something that will catch the buyer’s attention at first glance. Remember, you are competing with thousands of other products and ideas that are reachable just with the click of the computer mouse.

You have to input dreams in your story excite your buyers and make them feel you are offering them an opportunity they wouldn’t get elsewhere.

3. You have to present your buyers with an offer they could not resist. Box in your offer and make the presentation complete, leaving the buyer and his questions, answered and satisfied. Provide everything that your prospective buyer would need before deciding on you product.

The benefit of internet marketing goes beyond the imagination. You can buy and sell whatever you want, the fastest possible time and the easiest possible way. Use it to your advantage.

Why do I Need a Website?

February 8th, 2009

  • Cost Effective Advertising.
  • Online selling.
  • Increased geopgraphic range.
  • Wider customer base.
  • Efficient marketing.
  • Improved customer support.
  • Succesful market research.
  • Customer feedback.

Just a few of the reasons why your business or organisation, however small, can benefit from having a professional web presence.

Your web site can be viewed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by anyone with a connection to the internet, anywhere in the World. With more and more people using the internet as their main method of researching and obtaining goods and services this is a potential market you can’t afford to ignore. In fact, many people obtain nearly all of the goods and services they need almost exclusively from the internet. This means that if you don’t have a web site, you are losing business to those forward thinking companies that do.

A website can be many things. In its simplest form it could be a single page advertisement, similar to one you would print in a newspaper or magazine, except that it would be available all day every day. A more useful website would consist of a few pages describing your business / organisation and informing potential customers of the products or services you offer. This can be coupled with contact information and a direct e-mail link so that your customers can easily request more information should they need it. More complex sites can contain an unlimited amount of additional information, can have complete online catalogues of the products you offer and even allow customers to order and purchase products from you online.

Some websites can even offer facilities and functionality that are not available via any other medium. A well designed website brings customers to you and brings you closer to your customers, opening up new opportunities for your business and providing your customers with the service they deserve. It is an ideal way of enhancing the service you provide.

Understanding Debt Settlement Companies and Their Goals

February 5th, 2009

A lot of people are interested in finding a debt counseling company to thelp them relieve credit card debt quickly but arent quite sure how exactly a debt settlement company works.

A debt consolidation company can offer a individual an amicable solution to high amount of credit card debt in a reasonable amount of time. Since Some people have never used a debt consolidation company in the past, it is difficult for people to underdstand how such a company actually works. Some companies require their clients to follow certain guidelines and provide quite a bit of personal information. The debt relief representative should go over each piece of documentation with you so that you can realize what you are signing.

The person representing the debt relief company will be trained to explain different types of repayment methods that the individual can use to eliminate their debt. The person seeking a debt counseling company should know about the different methods available and the essentials for each one before determining which methods will be the best for their needs. The debt relief rep can answer any doubts that the person may have about what they need to do for the repayment plan and help them find the right repayment methods for their current financial position. In some cases, a representative from the debt settlement company may be able to obtain a lower interest rate on some of the individual’s debts by using some of the lesser known tactics of the financial industry.

A good debt relief company will pride themselves on the relationship that they have with the people in their area and conduct business in the right way to keep a great reputation. A debt relief company knows that a loss of confidence in the business by people in the area may be something that the company will be incapable to regain from because no one wants to go do business with a debt settlement company that may be cheating their customers or driving them deeper into debt. For this reason, a debt counseling company will do their best to match all of their customers to the fitting debt repayment plans for their needs.
