Large Number of Manufacturers in the Gaming Laptops Sector
August 30th, 2008Gaming laptops were once only for the wealthy and not for the mainstream consumer. They were low volume sellers and massive profit making laptops. I guess numerous people would concur they always wanted a gaming notebook but it was just out of bounds for the majority. Had you been a power user they were basically the best laptop computers you could acquire. I would get really excited by them but I knew I couldn’t go out and buy laptop computers at the high prices they were going for. I think things are already shifting though and will continue to because the global manufacturers are all getting into the sector.
Just imagine how much profit these manufacturers would be producing particularly when utilising their economies of scale. At the moment the profit margins on the majority of notebook computers are so marginal that this constitutes as a golden opportunity to regain the gross margins. In my point of view larger companies can apply leverage to induce prospects to buy laptop computers regardless of cost. What can local retailers possibly do if they are squeezed out of the sector? I know for a fact that gaming laptops will become greatly affordable for us. I reckon customers will trust the bigger brands more if they get something costly.
The notebook computers hitting the market are proving to be the best laptop computers ever seen. I think this will still be the ray of hope for littler manufacturers though. Specifying the specification is a thing all us techies prefer. These picky potential customers are traditionally very well educated with the technology and are able to check each of the components individually. For these sort of prospects, the speed of a notebook usually matter more than the looks of it.
Certainly from the customers view, its a great thing. I can predict a few price wars taking place in this market after the early months. Its tough to say what could occur to be honest as the market is a fast moving one. I am not sure if the overall price of notebook computers will come down but new notebooks are always at particular prices. More competition typically induces improved products at cheaper prices so the times ahead must be promising.
